Good to know: You are the skipper, so the conditions matter more than on any guided trip. Ask the operator which area you may enter, what the briefing covers, and what happens with fuel, deposit and minimum age – those details sit on each booking page, not in the title. The open west coast can be rough in wind, and a small boat feels every wave.

Frequently asked questions

What is Milos best known for?

Milos is known for the white volcanic rock of Sarakiniko, the Kleftiko sea caves on the south-west coast, colourful fishing villages such as Klima, and the uninhabited island of Polyaigos. The Venus de Milo statue was found here in 1820. Most bookable experiences are boat trips, plus jeep, e-bike and culture tours.

Where do Milos boat tours depart?

There is no single marina. The current offers leave from Adamas, Pollonia, Klima and the south-coast beaches around Gerakas and Agia Kyriaki. Check the meeting point on the booking page: Pollonia is roughly 10 to 14 km from Adamas.

How do I get to Milos?

By ferry from Piraeus, which takes roughly from under three hours to about seven depending on the vessel and stops, or by plane from Athens in about 40 minutes. Check current timetables before you book a tour for your first or last day.

Do I need a car on Milos?

A car or quad is the usual choice because the beaches are spread across the island and public buses are limited. If you base yourself in Adamas you can reach the boat tours and some sights without one, and guided jeep and island tours include the transport.

Can I walk or drive to Kleftiko?

In practice Kleftiko is a boat destination: the offers listed here are sailings, catamarans, speedboats and self-drive boats. Whether a trip swims there or only passes it is stated in the description, so read it before booking.

What does Milos not have?

Milos has no single central beach resort and no big nightlife strip; beaches, villages and harbours are scattered, so every day involves transport. Rough sea can change or cancel boat trips, and the quiet shoulder-season months have fewer departures.
